Ekio
Born in the south suburbs of Chicago, Ekio grew up between Chicago and the south Chicago suburbs. Being raised by artistic parents, he naturally gravitated towards the arts. Starting as a visual artist to later becoming a performing artist, Ekio knew as a teen that the perfoming arts were a way of liberation for him—this later turned into another perfectly intertwined passion for making music.
Currently, he is cultivating a music project that pulls from funk/rap/r&b/avant-garde elements. Something which could be heard in his single "Honeydew" for which he shot a music video for in 2021 melting elements of his groovy style along side of his electric performance. Directed by AJ Spitz and Cinematography by Austin Vinas, the visual concoction takes on a wild otherworldly ride. You can also catch Ekio on a horse, animals he has been around most of his young life.
Ekio's artistic aspirations, pull from his deep rooted spirituality. His utmost hope and goal is to inspire and attract others to experience the same type of liberation through the arts as he has.
